What you get per run

Six outputs from one 50-credit run

Competitive leaderboard

Every brand — yours and each competitor — ranked by total mentions across all queries and providers. Shows mention rate %, average position when cited, and up to three framing sentences pulled from actual AI responses.

Per-query brand × provider matrix

An expandable table for each query showing every brand's position on every provider. Position #1 is shown in green, #2-3 in amber, #4+ in orange, not mentioned as a grey X. Click any query to expand and read the framing excerpts for your brand.

Framing excerpts per provider

For each query where your brand is cited, the tool extracts the sentence in which it appears (up to 160 characters). This is the exact language the AI used to describe or position your brand — not a paraphrase.

Your brand summary stats

Three headline numbers at the top of each run: your overall mention rate %, your average position when cited, and the total query count for that run. These are the fastest read on how you're positioned vs. the field.

Run history (last 10)

Every run is saved and accessible via a dropdown. Switch between past runs to see how mention rates and positions shift after you've made content or schema changes. No re-running required to compare.

5 providers per query, run in parallel

All queries run across all 5 providers simultaneously — no sequential wait. A run with 3 competitors generates 6 queries × 5 providers = 30 individual AI calls, all resolved before results are returned.

FAQ

Common questions

What queries does a run generate?

Every run includes three base queries: 'best [category]', 'top [category] brands', and 'which [category] should I buy'. For each competitor you add (up to 4), one additional comparison query is generated: '[your brand] vs [competitor]'. A run with 4 competitors generates 7 total queries.

How is mention rate calculated?

Mention rate is the percentage of query/provider slots in which your brand name was found in the AI's response. Each query runs across 5 providers, and the leaderboard tracks how often each brand appeared across the full run.

What is 'framing' and why does it matter?

Framing is the sentence in the AI's response where your brand appears. It shows not just whether you were cited, but how — whether the AI described your brand as the top recommendation, a budget option, a niche pick, or an alternative. Framing tells you what narrative AI systems are building around your brand in comparison to competitors.

What does position mean?

Position is the order in which brands are mentioned in the AI's response, based on which brand appears first in the text. Position #1 means your brand was the first brand named. Position #3 means two other brands were named before yours. Lower positions in repeated queries signal that AI systems consistently lead with a competitor over you.

Can I run the monitor more than once?

Yes. Each run is stored and the last 10 are accessible via a dropdown. Run the monitor after making content updates, publishing new pages, or fixing schema — then compare your mention rate and avg position against the previous run to measure the impact.

Which providers does the tool cover?

Five providers: ChatGPT (gpt-4o-mini), Claude (claude-3-5-haiku), Gemini, Google AI Overview, and Google AI Mode. All five run in parallel for every query. This is the broadest provider coverage of any tool in the platform — including Gemini, which the Product Citation Scanner does not include.

Do I need to add competitors?

Competitors are optional. Without them, the tool runs only the three base queries across all five providers — useful for a baseline read on how AI positions your brand in the category. Adding competitors generates the 'Brand vs Competitor' queries, which are typically the most revealing for understanding how AI frames head-to-head comparisons.
