Know which intent stage every query belongs to
Paste up to 100 queries. Get each one classified into one of 5 AI shopping intent types with a rationale, and see which types have no content at all.
Every query falls into one of five stages
Classification is based on query phrasing, not topic. The same product can appear in all five types — with completely different content requirements for each.
Best X for [use case] — purchase-ready, use-case driven
AI treats these as recommendation prompts. Being cited here requires content that maps your product to specific use cases — not just product specs.
X vs Y, X or Y — purchase-ready comparison queries
Comparison queries are the highest-converting intent type. AI builds answers from product specs, review sites, and editorial comparisons. You need structured comparison content to appear here.
How to X — instructional, builds topical authority
Instructional queries build early-stage topical authority. AI cites detailed how-to guides with numbered steps, specific tips, and expert framing — not generic advice.
What is X — awareness stage, category level
Definition queries attract early-stage buyers who are category-aware but not brand-aware. Category pages with clear definitions, taxonomy blocks, and type breakdowns rank well here.
Is X worth it — near-decision confirmation queries
Validation queries signal a buyer who has almost decided. AI pulls from Trustpilot, Reddit, and editorial reviews. Strong review signals on third-party platforms drive citations here.
Classify, group, and find gaps in one run
Six capabilities from query list to prioritized content action.
AI classification per query
Each query is classified into one of 5 intent types by gpt-4o-mini using JSON-mode output. Classification uses the query phrasing, not the topic — 'best hiking boots for wide feet' and 'what are waterproof hiking boots' are the same topic but different intent types.
One-sentence rationale per query
Every classified query includes a one-sentence explanation of why it falls into that intent type. Useful for reviewing the AI's reasoning and deciding whether to contest a classification.
Intent gap detection
After classification, the mapper checks which of the 5 intent types have zero queries. Any empty type is surfaced as a gap — a signal that your current keyword set has no content targeting that intent stage.
Optional category context
Add a category name to give the AI more context for accurate classification. 'Waterproof hiking boots' helps distinguish 'how to clean boots' (how-to) from 'how to waterproof leather' (also how-to, different context).
Up to 100 queries per map
Paste an entire keyword export — up to 100 queries per run. The tool classifies and groups all of them in one 30-credit operation, regardless of list length.
Grouped results by type
Results are returned grouped by intent type, not in paste order. See all your Best-For queries together, all your Difference queries together, and so on. Gaps appear as an amber alert at the top of the results.
A gap is a specific content brief
When the mapper surfaces a gap, it tells you exactly which intent stage is missing. That is a specific content requirement, not a vague audit finding. The tool links directly to two places to act on it.
Article Generator
Use the gap intent type as your brief. A missing How-To type means you need a 'how to choose X' or 'how to use X' article. A missing Validation gap means a review-style or comparison piece. The article generator produces GEO-optimized content for exactly these formats.
Content Cluster Builder
A gap in Definition or Best-For queries often signals a missing content cluster — not just one article. The cluster builder maps the full topic graph around a keyword, covering all intent types in one coordinated structure.
Common questions
What is AI shopping intent classification?
It is the process of identifying what a buyer is trying to accomplish with a query. 'Best hiking boots for wide feet' is a purchase-ready recommendation request. 'What are waterproof hiking boots' is a definition query. 'Are expensive hiking boots worth it' is a validation query. Same product category, three completely different content needs. The mapper tells you which type each query belongs to.
What are the 5 intent types?
Best-For (purchase-ready use-case queries), Difference (comparison queries like X vs Y), How-To (instructional queries), Definition (awareness-stage what-is queries), and Validation (near-decision is-it-worth-it queries). Every query you enter is classified into exactly one of these five.
What does a gap mean?
A gap means none of your queries fall into a particular intent type. If your keyword list has no Validation queries, that intent stage has no content associated with it. Buyers asking 'should I buy X' or 'is X worth it' will not find your content, and AI systems will not cite you for those prompts.
What is the rationale field?
Every classified query includes a one-sentence explanation of why the AI assigned it to that intent type. For example: 'best X for Y pattern indicates a use-case-driven recommendation request.' This lets you review the AI's reasoning and decide whether to contest a classification before acting on it.
How many queries can I submit at once?
Up to 100 queries per map. The 15-credit cost is flat — the same whether you submit 5 queries or 100. Paste an entire keyword export and classify everything in one run.
What do I do with the results?
For gaps, the tool links directly to the Article Generator and Content Cluster builder. Use the gap types to decide which intent stage to write for first. For the classified queries themselves, use them to audit which pages cover which intent types, and whether you have content in each.
